2010 Wyncote Southeast Florida Annual Luncheon Reunion
Present and former members of Wyncote Yacht Club, again on
Tuesday February 18, 2010, held a Luncheon/Reunion, which has
become
an Annual Affair. The group met at Mangrove Matties Restaurant
in Fort Pierce, Florida, set on the very beautiful Ft. Pierce
Inlet. Some of the Inlets of Florida are just spectacular
for sightseeing as are many places on the East or West Coasts
of
Florida. Former members of Wyncote living near the Coastal
Areas of Florida have such great views along the Atlantic Ocean
Front
and the Gulf of Mexico coast line. But then I’m partial
to large bodies of water, like the Atlantic Ocean and The
Gulf of Mexico.
The Wyncote reunion was attended by the following: Al & Carol O’Donnell,
John & Trudy Panaseny, Bob & Jo Hammond, Don & Jan Liljestrand, Geoff
Stark, Jeanne Oschmann, Bill Kaiser, Mary Boita, Mary Lou Walendorf, Don & Marilyn
Stevenson, Bob & Rory Helbing and for the first time Joe & Fran Mercolino
attended our Wyncote Southeast Florida Luncheon Reunion. It was sure nice
seeing them again after all these years. Sorry we could not spend more time
with all
who came. It is a short time to try and get together with everyone for more
chat time.
Unfortunately we missed Pam & Bruce Dantzler by one day. The 18th of
February was the day their flight was leaving for home. I hope next year
if anyone thinks
they might be here in Florida in February 2011 they might let me know the
times they plan to be here. Maybe we can work something out for that period.
We all
hope more active members can some day join us. All the former are Active
Members, ex-Wyncote Members or Associate Members.
Thanks Al O’Donnell for making the arrangements at Mangrove Matties
again. Al, as he has done in past years keeps on top of these arrangements.
We had a
few date changes in years past because of scheduling changes a few members
had to make. I know that many names mentioned, are not familiar to a lot
of the newer
members, but there still are members that will recognize these names from
the past. Some
day all Wyncote Members will be in our position, and will be reporting on
their activities here from the Sunshine State or from whatever location they
will retire
to. If a Wyncote Member who happens to be here in Florida at this time of
year, I
will try to give ample notice next year in case any member wishes to attend.
Patricia DeGeorge keeps all of us living in Florida up to date on active members
well being, and we all here in Florida wish all active Wyncote Members the very
best and hope all who had any medical problems these last months a speedy recovery.
All of the Wyncote retirees here in Florida wish all Wyncote Active Members the
very
best for the coming 2010 Boating Season. I would personally like to acknowledge
Vinnie Nicholes for his generosity and time in having my letter over the years
about our annual luncheon printed in
the Wyncote Newsletter.
Thank You
Bob Helbing
